I try my best to spend time in the Word, studying and praying at the very least five times a week. Since I have started doing this I have found some awesome little nuggets; gems in the Word of God. He has taken the time to open my eyes to some beautiful truths that really make my heart glad. I am sustained for the entire day just thinking of what I learnt during my morning prayer time. So here is the first nugget I would like to share.
Psalms 19:8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; (NKJV)
In life it is easy to do our own thing, go our own way, live selfishly, break our friendships, mess up our marriage, be nasty, give in to temptation and become wayward.
It is a lot harder to follow God’s statutes, His laws, His rules and His principles. It take effort and sacrifice to have a great marriage, to love our friends, to be patient and kind. It is hard work.
But it is much, much, much harder to fix the mess made when we take the easy road to destruction. Being unkind to your husband is easy, flirting with another man is easy but repairing your marriage once you or your husband has had that affair is nigh on impossible and much harder than living as the wife God instructed us to be in His Word.
It is very difficult to live up to God’s standard when you do your heart will rejoice because you will reap the rewards. Take the high road because it is a happy road.
